This year instead of gifts for Christmas, we decided to enjoy family experiences. Our fishing trip was a huge success! Our captain and first mate arrived on time with a smile and ready with water, snacks and all the fishing equipment, Our goal was to catch something for us to cook up for dinner. We caught 3 huge Mahi Mahi -sushi grade! This adventure exceeded our expectations: Lots of fish jumping out of the water, dolphins swimming nearby and even a huge sea turtle swimming along side us for a few. These guys are pros and love what they do! This trip is highly recommended.

Elier and Antony worked their tails off to find us fish on a tough day of fishing. We eventually got into some yellowfin and picked up a couple. They really went the extra mile for us and were very pleasant to be around. Antony even prepared a plate of fresh yellowfin with avocado, lime, and soy sauce that was amazing!!

We had a great time and caught 5 Mahi, 2 Yellow Fin, and a Black Fin. Talk to Maria at the cafe at the marina in order to get your fish back to the states and MAKE SURE to get a receipt for fish packaging to avoid airport security questioning your carry on if you bring meat back. Note- we were not picked up from the marina itself (we got on and off the boat from a rocky shore). He has his own way of doing things.

Captain Elier and his mate Anthony were top notch professionals! They were extremely kind from the beginning and we could tell very experienced. We were able to catch onto plenty of Mahi-Mahi’s along with some other species. Anthony’s ability to continually handle all the lines in the water while Elier maneuvered the boat impressed both my wife and I. We had such a fun time with them and caught some great fish! Overall great experience with these guys.

We had a blast with Capt Elier and Anthonio.  Going for sailfish and dorado means you’ll be doing a LOT of trolling…and that we did.  The boat has 2 long benches on each side of the stern which made for a perfect place to nap when the action was a little slow.  Elier worked hard to find the fish and keep us on the fish.  The only confusion was finding where to meet the boat.  Elier had us park at Bahia Azul restaurant then walk the steps to enter the boat.  Once we found it, everything else went smoothly.

We saw THOUSANDS of dolphin, many bird species, a loggerhead sea turtle, flyin fish, caught tuna and a sailfish.  The boat was stocked with plenty of beverages and the homemade burritos Elier provided for lunch were DELICIOUS! We had a blast and would definitely recommend booking with Soleil again.
