First of all I would like to say how great captain Ron was. When we first spoke to Ron he asked us what type of fish we wanted to catch. We told him that we were looking to get some fish for some good eating and also wanted to catch a few monsters. A few minutes after the call Captain Ron sent us a whole bunch of texts in regards to what to expect on the trip and how he was going to do to try an accommodate our wishes. He sent us some helpful tips on how to prepare for the trip and what to bring. I was astonished about how informative he was. He even sent us pictures of some of the catches caught in past trips. We had 5 in our group. 2 in our group never went on a fishing charter. He was patient and very funny. He was also a great tour guide. He told us about the different sites and things we saw as we road to our different locations. He took us about several miles away from shore on our first part of the trip. We caught a few small groupers (we couldn’t keep because of size) snappers, sea bass, Toad fish, Spade fish. We also caught some bait fish for the monsters we were looking to catch. On the second part of the trip was monster fish time. Captain Ron did not disappoint. He cast a line and in a few minutes it started going. He gave my son the rod it began. It took my son (with Captain Ron’s help) about 3-5 minutes to reel in a Shark(I believed captain Ron called it a nursing shark). It weighed about 300 lbs(that’s no tall tale. Look at the video). Of course we did not keep it but it was fun to catch. After the trip Ron filleted the fish we caught. He was careful to fillet the fish so there would be no bones. He told me to make sure when I prepare the fish for cooking that I should double check to make sure there were no bones. I check and no bones. That night we had an amazing fish fry with the catch and everyone loved it. This was trip for my son’s graduation from college. Captain Ron made it a very special and memorable one. I would not hesitate to book another trip with Captain Ron when I’m back in the area.
