I booked this charter back in June for my 33rd birthday.
Due to a schedule change, Captain Woody was not going to be able to take us out on the water, so his partner Captain Andrew took us out instead.
Overall the trip was a pleasant experience, Captain Andrew was a little stiff in the morning in terms of temperament but he loosened up as time went on.
We caught a handful of fish in the beginning between the hours of 7 to 9am but after that we really didn’t catch much else on a 10 hour voyage.
The rest of my family and friends that I invited had a great time, but I was kind of bummed out that we didn’t catch anything else, especially our desired quarry Dorado.
I know that’s not the Captain’s fault, nor any failure to facilitate or lack of equipment, experience or otherwise, please do not misunderstand what I am getting at.
My family was trying to reassure me, that that’s just how the dice roll sometimes. It’s called “fishing” not “catching”. You won’t always be successful in catching what you’re going after.
I think my problem was is that my expectations were too high and I had this idea of how things were going to play out and they didn’t, and I guess I was pretty bummed out about it.
Regardless, I would highly recommend booking a charter with Captain Woody and Andrew on the Sea Scout when you plan your next fishing trip. They know what they are doing and they are very accommodating.
Cheers
