I’ve known Ron for 3 decades and I’ve known Hunter (deckhand) for several years since they began on the Nautilus. Hunter is a polite, responsible and eager young man that is capable of back to back days/months of 14 to 16 hour days. Ron has instilled in Hunter work ethics that are hard to find in people his age. This combination is as good as any Charter Boat operation, and better than most, that you will find in the San Francisco area. Ron looks at fishing as a science and he understands the science behind the fish he hunts. Coupled with this knowledge stemming from 40+ years of fishing experience in these waters makes him an excellent hunter and his ability to put us on the fish is truly impressive. This is my second time chartering with captain Ron, great experience all around. The water is a little bit choppy today but Ron took us to a quieter place to load up on lingcod’s and rock cod. On our way back, we stop for stripe bass and we immediately reach limit within 10 mins! Captain Ron really knows the spot!

Will definitely go again next time!

My two brothers and I met up with parts of our families and made some great memories under Captain Ron’s guidance. He found plenty of fish and we even caught a bunch of them, just short of the limit (half day tour). We had a great time and plan on coming back albeit for the full day. Priceless.

I would recommend Nautilis Excursion to everyone. Captain Ron and his deck hand Hunter took really good care of us and made sure we were on top of the fish.  They are very accommodating and very helpful to everyone.  Will be booking Nautilis Excursion‘s again.
