Not having fished Lake Murray for decades and now living on the Florida Gulf Coast, I’ve become somewhat of an avid fisherman in that area. When I arrived in the Lake Murray area I was cautioned that the Striper action might be slow in mid-March. But not long after we left the boat dock Captain Lindler had the Planer and Transom Lines in the water and we were on the Stripers. For the first 45 minutes the action was vigorous. The first fish weighed in at around 12 lbs. And while we caught a dozen fish in that single area, we were pleased that 5 were keepers. The conditions improved as the day progressed and between my group of three we pulled in a total of 19 fish, with 7 of them being generous size keepers. I’ve fished salt water, estuaries, surf, river, lake, and brook fly fishing, as well as flats and deep sea fishing; I can say without hesitation that Captain Lindler is right near the top of my list of Captains/Guides I would turn to. His equipment is great (2D, 3D, and Side Scanner imaging) and he knows it well and was able to put all of it to effective use. As far as friendliness, courteousness, professionalism, patience, and readiness to help are concerned, he gave pointers and made suggestions that kept things going smoothly and productive. A truly outgoing and friendly guy! We couldn’t have expected or asked for more. He gave us a truly successful, exciting and fun-filled day on the lake. I will be arranging another outing with him in the not too distant future and we will all be recommending him to others we know who enjoy or want to try their hand at Striper fishing.

Capt James in my eyes the best dame fishing guide on the lake! He planned everything perfectly well in advance. I believe he even queued the fish on the lines like a great Fish Whisperer! He’s very knowledgeable, explained all his techniques on how to out smart the fish. We were well on our way to catch the limit, however, our trip was cut short by rain. In the Capt’s defense, we agreed to ride it out but didn’t realize it was going to be such a heavy blinding rainstorm. We made it back to the dock, soaked to the core. I asked the Capt if he needed help loading the boat but told us to save ourselves and go. What happened next proved to me that he’s the best dame Capt I know. He offered to filet the fish and take them directly to my house (~15 miles) once the weather cleared and he dried off. I am looking forward to another fishing trip with THE Captain. Thank you Capt!!! Wind was rough but you can’t control the weather.  Thank goodness we had a great Captain who worked his tail off to find us fish.  My 12 year old caught the biggest fish and had the time of his life.  That is what it is all about!
