Easy to book this short fishing trip here on the app. Got a confirmation message from the captain quickly.  I can’t say exactly how I ended up booking JW Charters but I’m glad I did!

Jonathon was easy to communicate with, and responsive to messages and a last minute phone call. Our expectations were not super high for catching much since it was just a 2 hour cruise, and also just a couple of days after tropical storm Ophelia—we were going to be happy to be out on a boat on a beautiful day no matter what.

Having said that, my husband did get a couple of bites, even if they were too small to keep. And we did come home with a good size flounder (which we just ate for dinner back home in northern Virginia!). Jonathon was very knowledgeable about where the fish would be, the tides, etc. and he didn’t let us fish too long in areas that were not giving us any bites. We hit about 4 different locations, and had a great time.  When we docked, Jonathon deboned our flounder for us!

Would definitely go out with him again, but maybe for a 3 or 4 hour cruise instead.

We had a great trip. Captain John put us on the fish our first stop. We had pretty good luck with the weather and the bites. After he got us settled in he was able to focus on makes this trip as enjoyable as possible for my daughter. She had a great time and was able to get some good experience out fishing on the water. I definitely recommend a trip Captain John, he is not only professional and knowledgeable he is great at offering a fun enjoyable experience out on on the water. We look forward to our next trip, thank you Captain John.

Had a wonderful time fishing with Cpt Jonathan. Boat was clean and well equipped. Cpt. Jonathan clearly has plenty of fishing and OBX experience and is eager to share his knowledge. Our trip was right after a big storm. The weather cleared out very nicely about an hour before our trip. We fished from two spots. We caught a few at the first spot but the second spot had us almost constantly reeling fish in. It was so much fun ! We had a blast and are probably going to charter with Cpt. Jonathan again later this year. Highly recommend

Jonathon is born and raised on the OBX. I don’t recall him being unable to answer any of our questions - about fishing, OBX history and living life on the islands. He fishes with a good gameplan. Hard to have a bad day when you’re fishing such a beautiful location… But Jonathon can take it to a whole other level. Book him and have a day!

I had a great morning with Jonathon! He was very professional and prepared with all of the safety necessities for a boat as well as all the bait/tackle you would need. He was super helpful with technique and even helped me bait my hook and take the fish off as needed. I felt very safe being a solo woman on a fishing trip. He’s very knowledgeable and friendly. Boat ramp was easy to find since he sent me a pin! 10/10 this is the guy you want to book with!
