I’ve been fishing for about 10 years and Captain Nelson is the best one by far that I’ve met. He got me on the fish and kept me on the fish. He even offered to keep out longer for a certain per hour cause the fishing was so good. He is kind, experienced, knowledgeable and speaks perfect english. He picked me up and dropped me off and I was an hour away. He is also a great driver. I felt very safe on his boat and his crew were very nice. I would come come back to DR just for him. The Boat and crew was great and did put us on a fish.  I am am not a trolling type person I love bottom fishing my fault for not verify this with the Captain before the trip.  Fishing Booker did not tell me that while booking.

Look no further, this is the real deal.  The whole experience was very organized right from booking the trip.  It was an adventure of a lifetime.  The Captain really puts the effort in to getting you reeling.  Will definitely book again in future trips to the DR.  If it wasn’t for my wife I would do it 5 days a week lol.

Captain Rivera uses a different business model than most, his model is completely about customer service. he is personable and treats you as a part of the family from the time he picks you up to the time he drops you off. His boat and equipment are well kept and clean, during the trip he had plenty of snacks, soda, water, and beer. He found big fish, and at the end of the trip the mate cleaned the fish, and the captain cooked it, anyone who has ever chartered a big game fishing trip has dealt with having to clean, ship, store, and cook their catch but the captain assists with all of it. He’s also quite the cook, he employed a marinade and spices to rival any restaurant, you will hardly notice it was done on the boat. Captain Rivera was also very helpful to assist in other local adventures, he offered a personal jaunt or assistance in scheduling as our language skills were lacking. In our case he helped to set up a local horse expedition which included trails across both beach and scenic forest trails. This is more than a mere game fishing trip, it’s an enjoyable experience you’ll want to repeat.
