WOW!  I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO REPLY TO THAT. 

The gulf stream is 40 miles from the inlet and I typically go 15-25 miles on a 1/2 Day trip.  I am upfront with every customer and tell them that to catch Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish and tuna require a Full Day trip.  Although the seas were 4-6’ they were 12 seconds apart which allowed us to get out.  That said, wind direction and direction of the swell will determine which direction we can safely and comfortably run.  Seas beyond 20 miles would have been 7-9’ .  We ran 18 miles to get were fish were being caught.  Typically chumming is done in shallower depths and when the surface current is not moving as quickly as it was the other day, the chum would never reach its target.  We used squid, and the highest quality spanish sardines.  We also caught plenty of live bait while double rigging.  Before we even started I educated everyone on the difference between the double rigs and the tradional bottom rigs (Carolina rigs) and explained that you would catch more keeper fish with the double rigs and probably end up with more large red snapper and larger fish with the Sardines and live bait.  If I am not mistaken only 1 person chose to use the double rigs while everyone else choose to try and catch larger fish (which they did).

I did everything in my power to make your trip as successful and enjoyable as I could despite the weather and the fact that I had suggested 2 days prior that it may be difficult to even get out due to sea conditions and offered you a full refund of your deposit.

Also, you were over 30 minutes late arriving at the dock and I made sure you recieved all of you time plus some addition time becuase it took longer to get out there in those seas.
