First of all, let me tell you, bluntly, what to expect…...A decent boat and ok equipment. This is not a tournament-ready rig and neither is the gear but it is better than most tourist charter boats.

The crew treat the the trip like a transaction, they wont socialise with you and believe they are just there to facilitate you catching some fish. This is probably how they have been treated in the past.

We took the time and effort to interact with them and also help rig up and keep the boat clean and tidy - show some willingness and you will get it back in spades and you may learn something too.

The guys worked hard and, by working as a team, we were boating multiple hook ups whilst keeping bait in the water at the same time. As such, my brother-in-law and I caught more than anyone else on the same day - just the two of us and the deckhand who was helping.

We only got a handful of shots at Dorado ,and we made it count in the very rough seas, taking several gaffers and the rest as chicken-dorado.

Make the effort to get to know the crew; speak to them and work with them and you will enjoy your trip a whole lot more.

Alex had a diversity of fishing including fly, trolling, and bait that made for optimum catch potential. Having fly fishing as an option along with the typical deep sea trolling elevates this company above the competition. This was the best guiding I’ve experienced, with Alex not only being a good guide but good company. I would highly recommend him to any one looking to get out on the water, regardless of fishing preference. THANKS ALEX!!!

We started the day by being picked up by an awesome driver named nick. He was nice enough to stop and get us some beer and accompanied me into the store to help me communicate. We were greated at the boat by a nice female who was there to be sure everything was taken care of and to our liking. We met the captain and deck hand, whom were both awesome. There was a slight language barrier. I know enough Spanish to get by during brief conversation, but these guys didn’t know very much English. That was fine by me because just a 20 minute ride to sea we were on the fish! Our first catch was a barricuda. We had 1 in our party who immediately got sea sick, but roughed it out the entire day. 20 minutes later we had our first mahi mahi in the live well. Diago, our first mate, was running the rest of the day. We had several hookups and most of the day we had 4 rods being reeled in with mahi mahi at one time. The entire day was like this and he definitely earned his keep that day! We had pretty rough seas, but I barely noticed being too busy catching fish.  We decided to call it a day about an hour early because 3 of the 5 of us were chumming the waters. Lol! We did troll most of the way back to the marina and a few miles out hooked into a nice tuna. This was a great surprise being it was the first tuna i had ever caught. We chose 3 fish to have them filet for us so the resort could cook them for us that night. With the amount and size of fish we had, we could have fed half the resort it seemed. Customer service was top notch.  I emailed Anthony Perez several time to make sure the 2 hurricanes hadn’t destroyed anything or ruined our trip. He always answered every one of our questions within a couple of hours amd in great detail. He arranged our transportation and sent us with 2 of his best fisherman to get us into the fish. Half way back to the resort he called our driver and asked to speak with me just to make sure everything went well and to hear our fish stories. That kind of attention to detail and commitment to running a top notch charter is hard to come by. Best deep sea charter I’ve been on. I huge thank you for a great day on the water!

We had a great time fishing for Marlin on this charter! Anthonly Perez was prompt and responsive to my inquires. He was informative and personable. Marlin Fever is a 36’ Phoenix that was clean and comfortable. The equipment was high quality and the captain and crew were very experienced and fun to be around. They did everything possible to get us the fish - they changed the bait frequently, S turning, zig zagging, changing speeds and ultimately I did get my marlin! We caught one, missed one and had a Wahoo bite one of our lines! I would highly recommend Anthony Perez and his team for a great deep sea fishing experience. **hidden content**

My wife and I were very excited for this trip, and Atlantdia did not let us down. Captain Alex greated us at the dock, led us to the boat, and within 5 minutes of arriving we were under way. We trolled through the marina and out to the reef. Within 5 minutes we hooked into a yellowtail snapper. We trolled for another 20 minutes when I then asked if we could do some bottom fishing. Captain Alex quickly made a tackle adjustment for my wife and I, and on my first cast I hooked into a small grouper. We were having a blast, which is right when the trip went bad on my part.
I have been sea sick in the past, but it has been 6 years since the last time. Captain Alex noticed I wasn’t feeling well. I started getting sea sick, and after it did not go away Captain Alex made every adjustment possible to help accommodate me. We moved to the inside of the reef and ultimately moved to the calm water in the cove in an effort to calm my stomach. Eventually I asked to go in and Alex was more than happy to assist in helping me feel better.
I am a seasoned fisherman (inland lakes mostly), and had I not gotten sea sickness I am confident we would have caught a lot more fish.
Captain Alex had a lot of knowledge of the reef and were to catch fish. My wife and I will be back again to use Atlandia Punta Cana, but next time I will bring the Dramamine for myself.
