Well, I suppose I’ll start by saying, “you get what you pay for“. Thought we were getting a great deal spending $400 for a half day fishing trip for two around the San Juan waters. The captain showed up in a 20 foot skiff And we trolled through the waters of the marina around the point into deeper water. Once reaching 100 ft depth, the captain started fishing while my buddy and I sat and watched him for the first 15 or 20 minutes. He caught a small, jack Cravelle and asked if I wanted to photograph of it. Eventually, he asked if I wanted to Jig. I said yes but was on my own as for how to use it. I tried to mimic the way he was jigging with no instruction. After another 15 to 20 minutes of me fishing with a jig and the captain using a spinner, he asked if my friend wanted to jig as well. Once again… No instruction. I gave instruction to my buddy on how to use the jig and the captain said, “exactly“. The test of the line & the poles/tackle were too weak for the only two bigger fish we got on line so they broke free within 5 minutes. Moved to a 10’ brackish water area with tarpon rolling the top of the water everywhere. But after an hour of anchor time and only one fish on (less than 5 minutes until the line broke) we headed back to the marina. Do not recommend. Spend the extra $ on a bigger boat & better gear.

We are honestly surprised on this negative feedback from your trip. It seems that you looked to a different profile or website when you booked your trip with us. 1. The 20 feet boat is exactly what is advertised on our profile, so we are not clear what were you expecting. This size is one of the biggest in the area for the type of fishing we offer. 2. Our trips are light tackle fishing as advertised on our profile as well. Light tackle fishing means light rods and fine line. Again, we are not sure what you expected. 3. You had the opportunity to fish both in the reef and the back channels where you had great action in both areas as you state in your post. You had more than three big fish that broke the line due to forcing the line inappropriately against the captain’s advice repeatedly. 4. The captain did explained to you on how to jig, but it appeared that you wanted to do it your way. It worked! You hooked three big fish that unfortunately got away. It is very sad that you post such a negative review after the captain did his job on getting you on the fish in different scenarios. Again, it appears that your expectations were different, which is surprising since it is exactly what is advertised in our profile.
It is sad to

The capt Luis JR was great. This was an awesome experience thanks to the capt knowledge of the island. Not only a great day of fishing the views were out of the world. Definitely would do it again
Great time on the water. Although fish weren’t biting as we’d like, my son and I were given a great experience. We did manage to catch a snook, but the views and time on the water were just as plentiful.
Great time with Yorman
