Got off to a rocky start because somehow the captain wasn’t aware of my booking made on this website, and they had a late start for their morning run and didn’t show up back at the dock until ~90 minutes after our scheduled departure time.  I started calling the phone number listed for the captain as soon as we got there and didn’t see the them at the dock, but it was going straight to voicemail (because they were outside of mobile coverage area so far out on the ocean, we found out later).  So we sat around for a while wondering if our trip was cancelled without our knowledge, until I spoke to the kind lady in the local booking booth who was able to reach someone and they told us they would still take us out but would be back in about 30 minutes.

After we finally left, everything went great and my family had an amazing time.  I even caught a big red snapper at the very end, which was awesome for our first deep sea fishing experience.  Overall I’m giving 4 stars because the trip turned out to be great despite the late start.  I would just suggest getting in touch with the captain via phone to confirm your booking well in advance.

Had a great time with Captain Jim Miles and Deckhand Andrew. Everyone caught something, some we released due to size requirements or being out of season, even the Tan Shark caught by my brother-in-law. We aren’t that experienced and relied on Captain Jimmy and Deckhand Matt. It was choppy but a lot of fun. We caught sharks, played tug of war with dolphins who seemed to be playing with us by grabbing the fish on my line and not letting me have it, and we caught the limit of king mackerel on a day when a lot of boats weren’t very successful. Matt worked really hard to keep lines in the water and to clean our catch after. Worth every penny.

We had an awesome day of fishing with Captain Brandy and Alex. We were on fish all morning long with 33 fish caught. Black Fin Tuna, Bonitas, Spanish Mackerel, Red Snapper, Trigger and a 8ft Dusky Shark. Alex and Brandy were really knowledgeable and just a ton of fun to fish with. They made our group of seven look like total Rock Stars when we got back to dock. Best fishing experience We have ever had. See you next year Y’all.
