Captain Jack is a nice man with knowledge of the Old Lyme waters. Last year,  we had a very good experience with him.
Today— not so much. He kept asking us about where the birds were…
He was totally unprepared, and he did not seen to know where the fish were, although I think it was because he came with no bait , and he had my husband fish for bunker as our bait.
Total bust, and he knew it. It wasn’t until we were out three hours that he offered us a water…
He asked us several times where/what were our thoughts on where the fish were? We’re the novices, we’re the paying guests on his charter. We expected him to be the expert.
I will say, however, that when we finally gave up on “fishing”,  we asked him to to just cruise down the coastline, and that was really lovely.
Thankfully, it was a beautiful day.
